The film follows three young friends—Lewis, Fuller, and Venna—as they embark on a road trip from Colorado to New Jersey. Their lighthearted adventure takes a dark turn when they start chatting with a truck driver over the CB radio. What initially seems like a fun communication quickly escalates into a nightmare when they realize that the trucker is not just a friendly stranger but a psychotic killer on their trail. The group must navigate not only their journey but also the increasingly dangerous situation they find themselves in as they try to stay one step ahead of the maniac.

Performances in a Tense Atmosphere

Steve Zahn delivers a solid performance as Fuller, injecting humor into the tension with his energetic personality. Paul Walker, playing Lewis, brings a more serious tone, which helps ground some of the more outrageous moments. Leelee Sobieski as Venna is unfortunately underutilized, as her character often feels like a passive presence in the unfolding chaos. The chemistry among the trio is palpable, but at times it feels uneven as the story shifts into horror territory. The supporting characters, especially the truck driver, add an unsettling layer to the film, yet they lack depth and development.
