Pacific Rim

Despite its impressive visuals, 'Pacific Rim' stumbles a bit when it comes to substance. While the giant robots and monsters battle it out, the film often feels like it's more spectacle than story.

'Pacific Rim' revolves around the catastrophic invasion of Earth by massive alien creatures known as Kaiju. The human race unites to combat this threat using colossal robots called Jaegers, which are piloted by teams of two. The story follows Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam), a washed-up pilot, and Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi), a newbie, as they team up to take on these monstrous foes. With the world on the brink of destruction, they must push past their personal traumas and learn to trust each other to save humanity.
