As they navigate both the challenges of adolescence and the high stakes of their superhero duties, the film juggles comedic elements with more serious themes. Unfortunately, the plot often feels stretched and meandering, making it hard to stay engaged throughout its 130-minute runtime.

Performances That Miss the Mark

Zachary Levi reprises his role as Shazam, delivering a performance that leans heavily into the goofy charm of the character. Asher Angel as Billy Batson holds his own but often feels overshadowed by the more colorful supporting cast. Jack Dylan Grazer brings humor as Freddy Freeman, though his arc could have been explored further. Rachel Zegler as Anthea is underutilized, and her potential as a character remains largely untapped. The ensemble delivers decent performances, but they often lack the depth needed to truly resonate.
