Sonic teams up with Tails, his loyal sidekick, to embark on a globetrotting race to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands. Along the way, they encounter various challenges, silly antics, and the usual mix of action and comedy. While the plot is straightforward, it serves its purpose in engaging a younger audience.

Ben Schwartz returns as the voice of Sonic, delivering a performance that captures the character's cocky yet endearing essence. Idris Elba's Knuckles is a standout, bringing a new dimension to the film, though his character's depth is disappointingly shallow. Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik continues to lean into his eccentric style, providing comic relief, but at times, his performance feels a bit over-the-top.
